Samuel has spent the last decade helping startups and mid-size business structure their intangible assets for seed and series funding, along with mergers and acquisitions.  Samuel has played a critical role in multi-million-dollar negotiations and acquisitions as an attorney for business sales, land-purchase agreements, patent licenses, and mergers and acquisitions within almost every industry.  

In addition to being a co-founder of BTBA, Samuel is currently the Director of Analytics at Unified Patents overseeing the development of Unified’s standard essential patents (“SEPs”) and fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (“FRAND”) patent data tools. He started his career as a Live Sport Broadcast Consultant managing IP portfolios and conducting statistical analysis for various broadcast network. In addition, Samuel implemented technical solutions involving network connectivity and video codecs in remote environments. In 2019, Mr. Baird was a Technology Development Associate at the Illinois Institute of Technology Transfer Office licensing various patent portfolios and a consultant at RPX developing solutions involving SEP and FRAND licensing.

Samuel is also the Managing Director of Sunbelt Business Advisors of Las Vegas, a boutique investment bank that has roots in business brokerage. Under his leadership Sunbelt has quickly become the leading investment bank for Las Vegas by providing world-class service, but agile enough to care about about all the details. In addition to these responsibilities, Samuel is a partner at Navvee Law a boutique M&A law firm. This unique experience allows Samuel to understand and advise on any aspect of the M&A process.
